• On the train, stick to our group. Safety is in numbers when you stay together on the bus or train.

• Stay alert. If you need to use your phone, look up from your screen often, and keep one earbud out so you can hear what’s going on around you.

• Secure Your Belongings. Keep purses, backpacks, and bags zipped and close to you. Avoid displaying valuables, such as cash or electronics, in plain view.

• Stay Organized. Have your TAP card or fare ready before boarding to reduce time rummaging through your wallet or bag.

• Stay Alert. Keep an eye on your surroundings and trust your instincts if a situation feels off.

• If you ever see someone acting in a way that makes you uncomfortable, move away.

• Never attempt to cross lowered safety arms/crossing guards. Wait for rail crossing bells and lights to silence and turn off before crossing.

• Walk on the platform at all times.
  This is a pretty chill trip, so there’s no need to rush. If we miss a train, we’ll just take the next one (every 10 minutes on weekends).

• Remain seated or hold on until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. Trains can make sudden stops and brake/accelerate when arriving at/departing from a station.

• Only cross tracks at designated crossings. No jumping across tracks or crossing/trespassing at undesignated, unsafe areas.

• Remain behind the yellow line at station platforms and on vehicles.

• Board and Exit Politely. Let passengers exit before you enter, and avoid blocking doors or aisles.

• Mind Noise Levels. Use headphones for music or videos, and speak at a moderate volume on phone calls.

• Keep Aisles and Seats Clear. Store personal items so others have space to sit and stand comfortably.

• Offer Your Seat to those who need it more, such as seniors or persons with disabilities.

• Follow the Code of Conduct. Adhere to posted guidelines—no smoking/vaping, no drugs or alcohol, and be respectful of fellow riders.

• Use a buddy system! Tag along with friends or an attending officer. We don’t want you to be alone. :]

• From the time we enter to the time we return, your clique is relinquished from our group, so stick together and remain inside the confines of Expo Park (within Exposition Blvd, Vermont Ave, Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Figueroa St).

• Not exactly safety-related… this isn’t a school-sanctioned event, so please bring a lunch or snack.
